Ways these Broncos and the flexible QB could stop the Kansas City Chiefs' dominance.

NFL 2025 season: Week six
Live coverage features live text of the weekend matchups on various channels, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (from 14:00 BST). Also, audio coverage can be heard through select stations covering a separate game (from 21:00 BST).
It's week six of the football calendar , after last week's talk about two top teams being possible championship contenders, they both surrendered their unbeaten records.
Striking in those games were the number of infractions both conceded. Philadelphia committed them in key moments meaning they kind of beat themselves after leading 17-3 entering the fourth period versus the Denver Broncos, who play in London this Sunday.
However it was good to observe that Denver quarterback the rookie managed to have that deficit before lead three scoring drives on three possessions in the fourth quarter, to win the victory by four points.
Denver boast the top defender with CB their star corner. They are first in red zone defence, whereas the Eagles lead the league in red zone offence, and the Broncos won that contest.
They had effective strategies regarding disguised blitzes. They did not always sending more than four defenders instead they might plug two linebackers in the interior then withdrawing them and send a slot defender from the outside.
At the start in the campaign, it was noted during a show how Denver might emerge as this season's dark horses. They ended the previous year strongly then did a good job of building upon that.
Could Denver be this year's dark horses?
Recently acquired TE their tight end has stepped up significantly while new RB their rusher is a guy the team trusts. He's currently fifth in the NFL in ground gains (over 400) as well as tied-fourth in rushing scores (four).
I love how head coach the Broncos' leader has "RUN IT!" prominently on his call sheet.
This demonstrates how the Broncos represent a squad aiming to prioritize the run, since one can do a lot off the back of that. It reduces opposing rushes and maintains in positive down and distances.
It's also benefited QB the young passer, who came the NFL as a first-round selection in the prior draft, throwing 29 TDs – second only to a star QB in rookie records (31 in 2020).
Other elite QBs possess the arm strength to throw all over, but they lack in the same way that Nix has. He boasts exceptional arm talent, a unique trait, and he's highly agile.
His strengths include his movement, the capacity to throw while moving, as well as finding varied release points to make the pass when he rolls out of the pocket, on rollouts. He can deliver that layered pass across the middle and past defenders.
As a rookie QB, aged 25, he displays great poise in the pocket and is not really fazed by extra rushers. He tries to avoid a sack whenever possible and can throw in tight spots. He possesses a high football IQ and remains very decisive.
If you consistently run the ball it eats up time and forces the defence to be on the field extended periods, and when you have a mobile QB the defense must cover the area vertically and horizontally. This proves draining.
Nix has bitten back with the coach during games at times and it seems Payton likes that attitude, seeing him as a fierce rival. In my view it's fun for the coach to have a young quarterback who's kind of like play-dough. He can really build something up the way he desires to build it. I believe it's a unique opportunity for him.
Payton has won a Super Bowl and now surpassed a legend for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen it all. I think the success Denver are experiencing offensively is largely due to his leadership, his schemes, his situational awareness – and the combination with Nix helps make him what he is.
There's no better a more qualified person guiding you, to assist you during difficult moments and boost self-belief.
I have faith in Denver's defence, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But are they strong enough to go against a top squad at its best? Because that was not championship-level play from Philadelphia in their last game.
Right now, it's unlikely Denver are incredible. They're performing above average, that's a good place to hold the AFC West. All they need is is maintain this path.
They're really good at leaning into their strength, which is the ground game, and this is exactly what they must do against the New York Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.
New York have surrendered 140 rushing yards each contest (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (in the bottom ten), and they're the only team yet to win a game.
Since the NFL started recording takeaways in 1933, the Jets are also the inaugural squad to be without a single takeaway in five outings, which is kind of shocking considering that their new coach was previously defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.
Patrick Mahomes says Kansas City are off to a poor start following Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.
After the upcoming matchup, Denver have a smooth-ish schedule up to their break (in week 12) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans plus the Raiders prior to the Chiefs.
Looking at the AFC West, the Chiefs hold a losing record while Denver are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could make a run for the top of the division.
It depends upon what version Kansas City shows up they meet since the Broncos {beat|def
