The UK is set to progress with employing the entire amount of immobilized Russian assets to bolster Ukraine's military campaign, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has declared.

In a joint statement, the heads of state of the United Kingdom, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany stated that this coordinated action would increase strain on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and persuade Russia to participate in talks.

They added that the decision would be executed in tight collaboration with the United States.

British penalties have frozen in excess of £25bn of Russian resources since Russia began its full-scale invasion against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. But, up to this point, funds provided to the Ukrainian government using Russian assets had solely been taken from gains and dividends accrued on them.

Sir Keir assured Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany were aligned in their goal to drive progress toward employing the total worth of the frozen Moscow's national holdings to conclude the conflict.

He added that more restrictions over the next period would increase the strain on Russia.

This announcement is subsequent to EU leaders convened in the Danish capital recently to discuss utilizing immobilized Russian assets for a €140bn credit to the Ukrainian nation.

In the previous month, President Donald Trump urged Group of Seven partners to take or otherwise use immobilized Russian funds, as reported by reports.

The total of frozen Russia's assets in the Europe is estimated to be almost €211bn.

Moscow launched widespread missile and drone strikes across the Ukrainian territory on that day, resulting in electricity outages in significant regions of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, and eight other regions.

A pair of individuals were killed and a minimum of 20 people were injured in the assault, the Ukrainian government stated.

In a post on an online platform after the incident, Zelensky wrote that the premeditated assault targeted public and utility structures.

"What is required is not mere statements but firm measures - from the America, EU, and the Group of Seven - in providing air defence systems and implementing penalties," he wrote.

"All penalty impositions undermines Moscow's military apparatus," Zelensky wrote, in a different message.

Additionally that day, Zelensky informed reporters he would urge Sir Keir to participate in the weapons procurement programme, under which alliance members acquire weapons from the America to donate to Ukraine.

While applauding the UK's strong support for Ukraine, he remarked it should demonstrate clearly that it would participate in the system, as well as enforce further restrictions on the Russian Federation.
