The latest action-packed game that audiences dived into was Far Cry 6, which starred Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the bad guy, Antón, and debuted during October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is famous for delighting in violence and mayhem with equal enthusiasm, all while weaving captivating, politically driven tales. Little surprise that the network’s recent announcement for a Far Cry seasonal program pulled in two creators whose projects have represented all of those things.

About the Series

Adapted from Ubisoft's popular video game property, the short-run anthology series will be available on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The series will also parallel the video games' style by introducing a new setting and ensemble in every instalment.

Key Producers

Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as showrunners on the series via their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

“FX has had magnificent partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” said Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is fresh, gripping, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to thank our partners at Ubisoft for trusting us with this beloved property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also star in the show, but at the time of writing, we have no details on what part that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago greenlit for a second instalment, with FX and Disney signing a new overall deal with the showrunner.

A release window for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
