People have come together throughout the country to remember 24 months since the Hamas-conducted attack on that fateful day in October 2023, as negotiations proceeded in Egypt over a conclusion to the conflict in the Gaza Strip.

The incident saw over 1,200 people losing their lives and 251 others abducted back to Gaza as hostages. It was the uniquely most lethal day for Jews since the World War II.

Israel answered by initiating a military offensive in Gaza which has claimed in excess of 67,000 people, according to the region's Hamas-controlled health ministry. Its figures are regarded as accurate by the UN and other world agencies.

"Our aggressive enemies have caused great damage, but they have not defeated us," Benjamin Netanyahu remarked on that day.

He also pledged to "realize all the goals of the war: the release of all the captured, the destruction of the Hamas administration and the assurance that Gaza will no longer pose a danger to Israel".

Remembrance Ceremonies Across Israel

The Israeli government rescheduled official remembrance events until October 16th - after the conclusion of the religious holiday season - but ceremonies still occurred throughout the country on Tuesday.

A commemorative event for the relatives of people killed in the Hamas incident was held in Tel Aviv. Organized by the victims' relatives, it was televised on Israeli TV networks.

A period earlier, a silent tribute was held around the country.

Peace Discussions in Egypt

At the same time, Israeli and Hamas delegations convened in the Egyptian Red Sea resort of the negotiation venue for a second day of indirect talks to review the conditions of the proposal.

A senior representative familiar with the negotiations revealed that an evening round of indirect talks began at 7 PM local time.

The representative stated the morning session finished without concrete outcomes, amid conflicting views over the recommended Israeli pullout plans from Gaza and over guarantees Hamas wants to ensure Israel does not resume hostilities after the initial stage of the deal.

He added that the negotiations are "challenging and have not yet achieve any real breakthrough," but noted that facilitators are striving to close the gaps between the two sides.

Critical Matters in Discussions

  • A lasting truce
  • The exchange of the hostages still held by Hamas for Palestinian prisoners from Gaza
  • The removal of Israeli forces from Gaza
  • Arrangements for assistance distribution
  • Post-war administration of the territory

Civilian Feeling

In the city's memorial area previously, 29-year-old a woman - whose brother endured the incident on the Nova music festival, where many attendees were murdered and numerous more were taken hostage by Hamas militants - told: "Nowhere appears as home now and until all the hostages are released not a single person will have peace of mind."

"After we see everyone home once more, we can relax anew. Then we can begin to heal," she added.

Near the leader's official dwelling in Jerusalem, people gathered to demonstrate their backing for the relatives of the hostages. Israel says nearly fifty stay in confinement in Gaza, twenty of whom are considered to be alive.

Protester Atalia Regev remarked: "It's necessary do whatever arrangement needed for the hostages to be released. But we truly desire guarantees that we will be secure."

Surveys now frequently demonstrate that approximately the majority of Israeli citizens want the conflict to end in as payment for the freedom of the abducted.

Palestinian Conditions

At the site of the music event, mourners assembled to honor the dead.

From there, the sound of Israeli air strikes and shelling could be noticed just a brief space away in Gaza, where observers reported the heavy Israeli attacks carried on.

In the urban center, bombardments were reported in the morning of that day in the west side Tal al-Hawa, area and Nasr areas and in the eastern district of the community, as well the camp to the northwestern area.

"Once the night arrives, the fear comes with it," relocated Gaza City resident Emaan al-Wahidi, whose teenage son was killed by an Israeli aerial attack previously, explained.

"My family are terrified of the air strikes. All the night we are sleeping together, clinging, especially my little child who rests his head on me the entire evening."

"Continuously we look at the news to see developments. And I'm concerned that this halt will not be finalized and that the war will resume to us."

Humanitarian Emergency

Al-Shifa hospital in Gaza City announced it had accepted the corpses of six people by the afternoon, including a trio who died in an Israeli attack in the south part al-Sabra neighbourhood.

Another medical facility in the south region of Khan Younis said two more dead people had been delivered. One of them was died by Israeli troops while attempting to get help to the south region, medics said.

The territory's health ministry said a significant number of the {territ
