Renowned Performer The actor Pat Finn, Known For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Dies at 60 Years Old.
Stateside entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in iconic programs including Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has died at the age of 60.
The skilled improv artist died at home in LA on Monday having undergone treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, according to media reports.
"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - only friends he didn't know yet," his family stated in a message.
They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
A Prolific Career on Screen
Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.
He was also seen in a regular part on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.
He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, portraying a social organizer famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.
During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of well-known programs, like:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- "House"
Finn was perhaps best known for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight series from 2011 to 2018.
His work in movies include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Away from his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was a member of a comedy group of six called "Beer Shark Mice".
"Pat guided, supported, and advised many learners over the years and it's nearly impossible to find anyone anywhere who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.
Paying homage, peer Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," he posted on social media.
The actor is leaves behind his partner Donna, three children, and his family.
