Patrick Bamford Signs With Sheffield United Despite Initiating Abusive Songs Targeting Coach Wilder
The striker has signed with the Championship side only seven months following instigating derogatory chants targeting the team's coach, Chris Wilder.
The 32-year-old forward, a free agent after departing from Leeds United, has signed a contract with the Championship strugglers until January. Bamford's lengthy time with Leeds finished by mutual consent this past summer.
One of Bamford’s final notable acts as a Leeds player involved leading insulting chants about Chris Wilder amid the club’s promotion party this spring. Now, the former England international will feature under Wilder as the Blades’ manager aims to pull his beloved club out of the bottom places.

Making Amends & Looking Ahead
All appears has been resolved with United, the league's lowest scorers, urgently requiring of improvement in attack and Bamford hoping to resurrect his playing days.
The Wilder chant went viral this spring. An apologetic Bamford and the Leeds manager, Farke, called the Sheffield United manager the following day.
Wilder commented at the time: “Spoke with Patrick recently and I have no issue at all with that. I'm uncertain regarding the language from a fellow professional! However I valued and respected him giving me a call.
“We had 20 minutes and similarly I talked with Daniel too and had a longer discussion together and he's a great person, a class act. Back in my playing days we used to dish it out and take it and that is part and parcel of football at every level, even on Sunday league. I have absolutely no issue. I am cool with it and I said that to Patrick.”
