Ex- Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Charges Involving Thirty-Eight Patients
Legal authorities have announced that a ex- doctor now faces charges for performing sexual assaults involving 38 individuals who were under his care.
The Serious Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of sexual offences – including some against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.
A senior CPS official said, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Investigation
The charges come after what police called a “complex investigation” into reported sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
List of Charges
The charging documents said the 45 sexual offences include:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
