Ex- Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Charges Involving Thirty-Eight Patients

Legal authorities have announced that a ex- doctor now faces charges for performing sexual assaults involving 38 individuals who were under his care.

The Serious Allegations

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of sexual offences – including some against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.

A senior CPS official said, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

The Investigation

The charges come after what police called a “complex investigation” into reported sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.

The defendant will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

List of Charges

The charging documents said the 45 sexual offences include:

  • Fifteen counts of assault.
  • Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
  • 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
  • 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
